How to Identify and Size TAPERED Silicone Plugs for Powder Coating, Anodizing, and E-Coating

1. Print the Chart: Download the 1:1 scale PDF below.
2. Verify Scale: Check the 6-inch ruler at the bottom of the printout with a physical ruler to ensure “No Scaling” was applied while printing.
3. Physical Match: Place your unknown plug directly onto the silhouettes. Use top and bottom diameters for width identification. Use side view only for length determination.
4. Select by Hole Size: For new projects, choose a plug where the hole diameter falls between 1/3 to 2/3 of the plug’s taper – ideally aiming for the halfway mark for the best seal.
